August is Women’s Month in South Africa, a time when we honour the bravery, strength, and resilience of women who have shaped the nation's history.
August is Women’s Month in South Africa, a time when we honour the bravery, strength, and resilience of women who have shaped the nation's history. It is a month that commemorates the iconic 1956 Women’s March, where over 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria, protesting the oppressive pass laws of the apartheid government. This powerful demonstration of unity and determination left an indelible mark on South Africa’s fight for equality and continues to inspire future generations of women to rise, lead, and create change.
At IIE Rosebank College, a brand of The Independent Institute of Education (IIE), we celebrate Women’s Month by spotlighting the impact of women who are transforming their futures through education. The #HERImpact campaign reflects our commitment to empowering women with the qualifications, skills, and opportunities to excel in industries that have traditionally been male dominated, such as Information and Communications Technology, Finance, Business, and Law.
Breaking Barriers with IIE Qualifications
The world is evolving, and so are the roles women play in it. At IIE Rosebank College, there is a diverse range of IIE qualifications designed to equip women with industry-relevant skills that prepare them for the world of work. Whether it is pursuing a career in Education, mastering the digital economy through Information and Communications Technology, or breaking new ground in the corporate and legal sectors, women at IIE Rosebank College are encouraged to aspire for leadership positions not just in South Africa, but across Africa and beyond.
Building Africa’s Future Female Leaders
Leadership starts with confidence, knowledge, and a supportive environment. IIE Rosebank College is more than just an academic institution; it is a community where young women are inspired to take up space and fast-track their careers, develop entrepreneurial mindsets, and lead with purpose. Through a combination of practical learning, mentorship through career services, and industry exposure, our female students are empowered to envision careers that challenge the status quo and contribute to meaningful change in society.
Women's Month: A Time to Reflect and Advance
Women’s Month serves as a reminder of how far South Africa has come and how much further we need to go to achieve gender equality. At IIE Rosebank College, we recognise that access to quality, affordable premium education is key to accelerating women's participation in leadership roles across all sectors. By nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and championing gender diversity, we aim to ensure that #HERImpact is felt in boardrooms, classrooms, courtrooms, and beyond.
