First Institutional Research Conference

Conversations on Higher Education at IIE Rosebank College: Teaching, Learning and Beyond

We are proud to announce that IIE Rosebank College will be hosting its first 
institutional conference titled “Conversations on Higher Education at IIE Rosebank 
College: Teaching, Learning and Beyond.’’ This conference, hosted online, brings 
together academics, professional staff, and students to explore how cross-functional 
collaboration, inclusive practices, and technology enhance student experience and 
institutional success. Participants are invited to present talks reflecting on teaching, 
learning, student support, institutional development, and many other topics of 
discussion. This conference positions itself at the intersection of research, practice, and 
student experience, offering a collaborative space where academics, professional staff, 
and students can share insights, innovations, and critical reflections. By highlighting 
cross-functional collaboration, inclusive practices, and the role of technology, the 
event creates a unique platform to exchange knowledge, celebrate achievement, and 
shape the future of higher education. 
We welcome presentations on teaching, learning, student support, institutional 
development, and a wide range of related themes. The program will feature thematic 
sessions, interactive student poster presentations, and awards for the best papers 
and posters, recognizing and celebrating outstanding scholarly contributions. This is 
a unique opportunity to share ideas, connect across roles, and shape the future of 
higher education at IIE Rosebank College together. 
Themes: 
1. Cross-functional approaches to advance student success, student engagement and 
development
2. Inclusive practices across teaching and learning and beyond
3. Practice to advance student and staff wellness and support
4. Leveraging technology and AI to enhance teaching and learning experiences 
5. Collaborative strategies for institutional capacity building 
6. Faculty and professional staff partnerships in shaping the student experience
7. Student Perspectives on Learning and Support

Abstract Submission Guidelines: 
• Abstract length: max 300 words and 5-6 keywords
• Include: Presenter name/s, faculty and department, title of presentation 
• Format of contribution i.e. poster, presentation or panel discussion
• Paper presentations, Panel discussions, and Poster presentations are welcome
• Submit abstracts to: ResearchOffice@rosebankcollege.co.za 
• Presentations are approximately 20mins, while poster presentations are shorter and 
discussions could be longer 
Submissions may include (but are not limited to): 
• Original research and studies
• Published work or publications 
• Research reports, practice-based reflections or case studies 
• Program or project evaluations 
• Surveys and data analyses 
• Position, discussion or conceptual papers
• Innovative teaching and learning approaches 
• Technology-enhanced learning reports
• Student-led projects or perspectives
Student Poster Presentation Guidelines: 
• Submit a single-page digital poster in PDF format (A3/A4) 
• Content should include: Title, student name, program/department, short description 
of project/initiative
• Submit posters to: ResearchOffice@rosebankcollege.co.za

• Feedback on acceptance of Abstracts: 27 October 2025
