Work readiness programs are curated to assist students to acquire the essential skills and knowledge to excel in their career endeavours and ultimately boost their employability.

Truth be told, getting a degree is just the first step in your career journey. But have you ever wondered what sets successful graduates apart from the rest? It’s not just about what you learn in class, but also about being work-ready and having the skills employers are looking for. That’s were career services programs come in- and research shows they’re game-changer. Matthew Hora, a researcher suggests that work readiness programs can be the key to unlocking your employability and launching your dream career.

IIE is a brand of The Independent Institute of Education therefore at IIE Rosebank College is all about setting our students up for success. That's why Career Services team has been working hard to host a range of awesome workshops and events that help students from all faculties get ready for the workforce. From resume-building and mock interviews to industry networking events, we've got students covered.

Our students love these initiatives, and it's easy to see why. "The RC Graduate Empowerment Programme was instrumental in my success," says Cibrian Hofsta, an IIE Rosebank College alumni. "With their support, I was interviewed for two internship positions and received both offers! I'm grateful for their guidance and excited for my new journey at Gravit8."

Recently, Career Services hosted events. In Bloemfontein, Career Services team organized a business breakfast to forge partnerships with clients and create job opportunities. In Polokwane, we teamed up with ABSA to teach first-year students about financial literacy. And in Cape Town, we delivered a Work Readiness Workshop for Early Childhood Development students, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the education sector.

These projects aren't just about helping individual students - they're about building strong relationships with industry partners and producing work-ready graduates who can hit the ground running. According to Ronewa Ramulifho, our Career Services Coordinator in Cape Town, "These programs are valuable to our clients, as they receive work-ready graduates and students who understand what's expected of them."

By prioritizing work readiness, we're not just setting our students up for success - we're also building a reputation as a leader in career education. And that's something to get excited about.
