The IIE

The IIE

Rosebank College is a brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) which is one of the leading private higher education institutions in the country registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training. The IIE has more accredited higher education qualifications than any other – currently over 90. We are a wholly-owned subsidiary of AdvTech Ltd, a public company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (Pty) LTD. The IIE has several systems and processes which are driven centrally by our Central Academic Team which is responsible for the academic governance and quality assurance of all programmes delivered through the campuses of all its educational brands, including Rosebank College.

BRITISH ACCREDITATION COUNCIL

The IIE is not only accredited in South Africa, but its dedication to providing quality education also led to it being accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC), an internationally recognised quality assurance agency. The British Accreditation Council is an independent authority in the United Kingdom that accredits private providers globally , including Greece, Switzerland, Singapore, India, Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates. Rosebank College students can now be assured that their IIE learning experience meets international best practice standards. To find out more visit, http://www.the-bac.org

WHAT SETS THE IIE APART?

We focus on building careers – we recognise that your qualification is the first step in a lifelong journey of learning. We, therefore, concentrate on curricula that are current and relevant (and we ensure this through our strong partnerships with industry and other higher education institutions) and on you gaining essential skills and competencies that will promote your success during your period of study and beyond. For these reasons, you will be given opportunities to apply your learning to real-world scenarios, and develop your capacity as a global citizen. We have several systems in place to ensure that we live up to these promises – from regular graduate tracking; to the involvement of academics and professionals in our regular programme review, to the standards set for programmes such as Career Centres offer and the social awareness campaigns provided on campus.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

The continual monitoring and improvement of quality are of great importance to The IIE. For this reason, we have several quality assurance processes which include evidence-driven reviews of our programmes, lecturer peer reviews, student success tracking and intervention programmes for students needing assistance. Also, we participate in the external reviews of bodies such as the BAC and HEQC.
