In order to be awarded this qualification, you must have achieved a minimum final year mark of fifty percent (50%) for each module of the programme, and have met all Work Integrated Learning requirements.    In some, but limited instances some modules may change. At the time of registration, please check that the entry requirements and fees have not changed.

This qualification is suitable for students who would like to pursue a career in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. If you are an analytical person, who is a practical thinker with strong planning skills and a natural flair for organising and solving complex problems, then this qualification was designed for you.


This IIE qualification enhances your creative, problem solving and analytical skills and encourages strong communication skills. Students who pursue this qualification will gain the knowledge, skills and applied competencies to enter the world of work as Logistics and Supply Chain Management graduates, in either the private, the government sector or in NGOs.


Full-time: This is a one year full-time qualification offered by The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). Full-time lectures take place during the day on weekdays at the following campuses Braamfontein, Pretoria CBD, Pietermaritzburg, Durban CBD, Bloemfontein and Polokwane. 

Part-time: If you prefer to study part-time you can study this qualification at the following campuses at the following campuses Braamfontein, Durban and Pretoria CBD. Speak to a student advisor to confirm duration of qualification and part-time fee structure.  There will be a future fee as this is an 18 month qualification and the fees displayed on the website are annual fees and not the full qualification.


This Higher Certificate is accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE). It is also registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) on Level 5 (SAQA ID No: 101529). On successful completion you will receive a Higher Certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), the leading registered private provider of higher education in South Africa.


 To register, you must meet one of the following entry requirements:

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Higher Certificate admission - A minimum of 30 % for English is required; OR

• A National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V) with Higher Certificate admission – A minimum of 40 % in English on either First Additional Language or Home Language level, with a minimum of 30 % in either Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy, a minimum of 40% in Life Orientation and a minimum of 50% in four vocational subjects; OR

• A Senior Certificate (SC) (without endorsement) or equivalent– A minimum of five of the six required subjects must be passed. Additional admission requirements apply to students with a School of Tomorrow (SOT) certificate. Please contact the programme manager at the campus closest to you for more information.

School of Tomorrow (SOT) (last date of achievement 30 June 2019).

Candidates who have successfully completed an SOT qualification may be admitted, provided that they have submitted their SOT Certificate and Academic Transcript as well as their NBT: AQL results and have achieved:
a) 40% in 3 subjects, one of which is an official language at Home Language
level AND 30 % in 3 subjects of which one must be for English - using the SOT
Conversion Table; and
b) A score of at least 37 for Academic Literacy (AL) and a score of at least 37
for Quantitative Literacy (QL)


  • Candidates must have attempted matric/Grade 12, attained the age of 23 before or during the first year of registration with three years' work experience and proven ability relating to the proposed programme as well as adequate communicative skills; OR
  • Candidates must have attained the age of 45 before or during the first year of registration.

RPL – demonstrate suitability for admission in terms of Senate's resolution 6.6 of 20 October 2005 which allows for Senate's discretionary conditional admission (if applicable).

If you are an international student, you must ensure that:

• you have an equivalent qualification to the aforementioned;

• your equivalent qualification is evaluated by the Universities South Africa (USAf);

 • you have a valid study visa issued in the name of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) that covers the duration of your studies.
