ONLINE LEARNING

Studying through online learning allows you the flexibility to upskill yourself and do other things such as work, it is worth mentioning that textbooks for those studying online IIE qualifications are included. We all know how expensive it can be to purchase study material, we have therefore included textbooks in your distance learning tuition fees.

The Higher Certificate in Human Resource Practices is also offered through online learning. This IIE qualification aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to administer and conduct various human resource functions.

WHAT YOU CAN BECOME

You can specialize in human resource management or work your way up to a human resource manager position. You could also specialize in payroll administration and management or work as a payroll manager.

GETTING THE BEST OUT OF YOUR ONLINE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

To ensure that you get the most out of your online learning experience you will need a laptop or digital device with a sound card, a web cam and have access to the internet.  

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To register, you must meet one of the following entry requirements:

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Higher Certificate admission- A minimum of 30 % for English is required; OR
  • A National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V) with Higher Certificate admission – A minimum of 40 % in English on either First Additional Language or Home Language level,  with a minimum of 30 % in either Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy, a minimum of 40% in Life Orientation and a minimum of 50% in four vocational subjects; OR
  • A Senior Certificate (SC)  (without endorsement) or equivalent– A minimum of five of the six required subjects must be passed.

Mature Age Exemption:

  • Candidates must have attempted the Senior Certificate, attained the age of 23 before or during the first year of registration with three years' work experience and proven ability relating to the proposed programme as well as adequate communication skills; OR
  • Candidates must have attained the age of 45 before or during the first year of registration.

RPL – demonstrate suitability for admission in terms of Senate's resolution 6.6 of 20 October 2005 which allows for Senate's discretionary conditional admission (if applicable).

If you are an international student, you must ensure that:

  • you have an equivalent qualification to the aforementioned;
  • your equivalent qualification is e valuated by the South African Quali fications Authority (SAQA);
  • you have a valid study visa issued in the name of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) that covers the duration of your studies.
