​​In order to be awarded this qualification, you must have achieved a minimum final year mark of fifty percent (50%) for each module of the programme, and have met all Work Integrated Learning requirements.​​ ​ In some, but limited instances some modules may change. At the time of registration, please check that the entry requirements and fees have not changed.​​

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Are you looking to pursue a career in accounting? Then you should register to study for The IIE Diploma in Accounting and Financial Computing. This IIE qualification equips students with the theoretical background and practical know-how of a combination of accounting and computer literacy skills supported by business competence to enable students to function well in the business environment. 


Upon completion of this qualification graduates can work as a financial manager, financial controller, management accountant or general manager.


Students of this qualification will cultivate their problem solving skills, and their focus on attention to detail. The qualification also requires that students are organised and are innovative and self-directed in their learning.


Full-time: This is a two year full-time qualification offered by The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) at Rosebank College. Lectures take place during the day on weekdays. ​Qualification offered at the following campuses: Braamfontein, Pretoria CBD and Durban CBD.


Use this diploma as a stepping stone to furthering your academic career. Once you qualify, you will have the wonderful opportunity of studying The IIE Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Public Administration degree through Rosebank College.


This Diploma is accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE). It is also registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) on Level 5 (SAQA ID No: 58667). On successful completion you will receive a Diploma in Accounting and Financial Computing from The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), the leading registered private provider of higher education in South Africa.




 To register, you must meet one of the following entry requirements:

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Higher Certificate admission -  A minimum of 30 % for English is required; OR
• A National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V) with  Higher Certificate admission – A minimum of 40 % in English on either First Additional Language or Home Language level,  with a minimum of 30 % in either Mathematics or Mathematics Literacy, a minimum of 40% in Life Orientation and a minimum of 50% in four vocational subjects; OR
• A Senior Certificate (SC) (without endorsement), or equivalent - A minimum of five of the six required subjects must be passed with Maths or Accounting.

Mature Age Exemption:

• Candidates must have attempted the  Senior Certificate, attained the age of 23 before or during the first year of registration with three years’ work experience and proven ability relating to the proposed programme as well as adequate communication skills; OR
• Candidates must have attained the age of 45 before or during the first year of registration.

RPL – demonstrate suitability for admission in terms of Senate’s resolution 6.6 of 20 October 2005 which allows for Senate’s discretionary conditional admission (if applicable).

If you are an international student, you must ensure that:

  • you have an equivalent qualification to the aforementioned;
  • your equivalent qualification is e​valuated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA);
  • you have a valid stu​dy visa issued in the name of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) that covers the duration of your studies.
