Study in Sunnyside | Rosebank College

Sunnyside has a reputation for being the student centric suburb of Pretoria. With streets lined up with bright purple Jacaranda trees which come out in full bloom in the spring time, this is one of Gauteng's most beautiful suburbs. Located east of the city centre, this is a busy, vibrant area that is often referred to as Las Vegas. Compared to its generally conservative reputation Sunnyside is Pretoria's outgoing side. Rosebank College explores some of the reasons why you should seriously consider studying at our Sunnyside campus

Accessibility: One of the major advantages of studying in Sunnyside is its accessibility to town and the CBD. From here you can walk to the centre of the city and neighbouring suburbs on flat terrain which makes walking a breeze.

Ample accommodation: Sunnyside remains popular with students because of its array of flats. Some dating as far back as the fifties with ample space and sprawling balconies, these are some of the most spacious, relatively most inexpensive flats that you will ever find in Gauteng.

Easy access to malls: Sunnypark is the shopping centre of Sunnyside. Built in 1970, the centre has undergone a dramatic facelift making it relevant to its time, with all the necessary shops you will need.

Public transport: Sunnyside is located along all the public transport routes. The City of Tshwane started the construction of the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system in Arcadia, Hatfield in 2012 and the system has been fully operational since December 2014. The network runs via Sunnyside from Pretoria CBD (from the corner of Nana Sita and Paul Kruger streets) in the west to Hatfield in the east. It also connects to the Gautrain station in Hatfield. Added to that, taxis are abundant and run until late at night. 

Places of interest: Due to its close proximity to Arcadia, Sunnyside is a stone's throw away from the Union Buildings – the official seat of the South African government and also house to the offices of the president of South Africa. Sunnyside is one of the five Rosebank College campuses in South Africa. Rosebank College also has campuses in Pretoria CBD, Durban, Braamfontein and Polokwane. Rosebank College is an educational brand of the Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) (Pty) Ltd, which is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private education institution under the Higher Education Act 1997.
