Are you looking to join the working world and are afraid that you may not have what it takes? Well, look no further because you too can be the next Barack Obama or Jordan Peterson.

So, why is public speaking important? To be more convincing and believable in business. Your confidence in your product which you show. To be able to communicate effectively internally. For one’s social life.

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR PUBLIC SPEAKING

  • Confidence

  • Enthusiasm

  • The ability to engage with the audience

HOW TO GET BETTER AT PUBLIC SPEAKING?

1. BE PREPARED
A key component of being confident in what you are about to say comes from being confident in what you
are about to say! If you have done your research and are saying the right things, rest assured, no crowd is
going to give you a tough time!

2. SPEAK TO PEOPLE
Join your local Toastmasters and practice speaking to individuals and groups.

3. PRACTICE ALONE
This is not just reserved the night before your event! Practicing speaking in the mirror even when you do
not have a speaking event is always a clever idea.

4. PRACTICE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Family isn’t just something that Vin Diesel has in his armory! Find those who you are comfortable with, and
you trust not to judge you. Practice with them and seek constructive feedback before venturing into the
public speaking world.

5. WATCH OTHERS SPEAKS
There are so many people who are Masters of Public speaking. The next time you’re watching them, instead
of fearing that you may never be like them, study them and try to understand what makes you enjoy
listening to them. For starters, look at Barack Obama, Jordan Peterson, and Rory Sutherland.
